Dr Anilkumar is currently involved in two Research projects, He is the clinical lead for a F-MRI study looking in to the effects of Nicotine on the brains of patients with Schizophrenia and an F-MRI study of the Effects of Psychological Therapies on Brain Functions with Prof. Veena Kumari, Professor of Experimental Psychology, Institute of Psychiatry .

He was involved in three neuro-imaging projects looking into the effects of antipsychotics in the Section of Cognitive Psychopharmacology. He did the f-MRI analysis of a emotional face recognition study in depersonalisation with Dr Erwin Lemche and Prof Mary Philips at the Institute of Psychiatry.He is also writing up the papers from two other projects which he has completed. He has also collaborated with Prof Thornicroft in the INDIGO study.
